workfinds.app compared with Indeed
Indeed is a job search site where employers post jobs and can pay to make them more visible. workfinds.app reads open jobs from employers' own career sites and applicant tracking systems and sends you to the employer to apply. It has no ads, and we never sell ranking. Here the two are set side by side, including where Indeed is the better choice.
workfinds covers the employers whose career sites and applicant tracking systems it reads: 1,374,597 open jobs today from 40,266 company sites. It does not list every job posted anywhere.
workfinds.app and Indeed side by side
| Topic | Indeed | workfinds.app |
|---|---|---|
| Paid placement | Employers can pay for Sponsored Jobs, which Indeed says stay prominent in search results and are featured in relevant job alerts. | No ads and no third-party trackers, and the site analytics use no cookies. We never sell ranking: results are ordered by relevance and recency. |
| Applying | Jobs with an Easily apply badge are applied for on Indeed; the others send you to the employer’s own application system. | Always on the employer's own site. workfinds has no application form and never sends applications for you. |
| Posting a job | Employers can start with a free job post on Indeed. | Employers do not post on workfinds: jobs follow the employer's own posting, and an employer who wants one removed writes to us. |
| Company reviews | Company pages carry employee reviews. | None of its own: workfinds has no employee reviews. |
| Country sites | A separate site for many countries, such as au.indeed.com, ie.indeed.com and in.indeed.com. | One site for every country, with a country filter and remote jobs pages that show which jobs name your country. |
What workfinds does differently
- No ads and no third-party trackers, and the site analytics use no cookies. We never sell ranking: results are ordered by relevance and recency.
- You always apply on the employer's own site: workfinds has no "apply here" shortcut that keeps your application.
- Work arrangement, location and salary come from the fields the source provides, never from guesses based on the description. A job whose source states no work arrangement is shown as "Work arrangement not specified" and counted as Unknown on the stats page.
- The remote jobs pages for a country list first the jobs whose source names that country as a country you can work from, then those open worldwide or across a region that includes it, with the counts of each.
- Listings follow the original posting: when an employer closes or changes a job at the source, it closes or changes here after the next check.
Where Indeed is the better choice
- Easily apply: on Indeed many applications are made without leaving the site, and Indeed tracks their status in My jobs. With workfinds you apply on each employer’s site and watch your own inbox.
- Employer posts: employers can post directly on Indeed, so it can hold jobs that are not on any career site workfinds reads.
- Company reviews: Indeed company pages carry employee reviews; workfinds has none.
- Local sites: Indeed runs a separate site for many countries; workfinds is one site for all of them.
- Reach: workfinds covers the employers whose career sites and applicant tracking systems it reads, and does not list every job posted anywhere.
Questions
Is workfinds an alternative to Indeed?
It is an alternative if you want a job search with no ads that sends you to the employer to apply. We never sell ranking. It is a smaller catalogue than a site where employers post directly, so use both if you want to see everything.
Does workfinds show sponsored jobs?
No. No ads and no third-party trackers, and the site analytics use no cookies. We never sell ranking: results are ordered by relevance and recency.
Does workfinds apply to jobs for me?
No. "Apply on source site" takes you to the employer's own posting, and you apply there. workfinds has no application form of its own and sends no applications for you.
Where do the jobs on workfinds come from?
Public listings on company career sites, applicant tracking systems and reviewed job boards; every job links to its original posting.
Is workfinds free?
Searching and reading jobs is free and needs no account. A free account adds job alerts (1 saved search and 1 followed company, in a weekly digest), a tracker for up to 10 jobs on your device and autofill in the browser extension. Pro is not on sale yet; it will add the resume check, unlimited job tracking with sync and daily alert digests.
